Tucked in below Mount Elden on Flagstaff’s East side, on the side of a house, you’ll smell the pizza well before you know what you’re walking into. Dane possesses a keen eye for detail, and this becomes evident the moment you bite into a slice, pulled steaming from the oven just moments before. This bi-weekly pizza pop up embodies the grass roots atmosphere, but with a very laid back, friendly, family dinner vibe. The namesakes irony is not lost on anyone, people come and go, pick up their order, chat, and with a quick hug, get back in their car and drive home, or they crack a beer and sit by the fire pit to chat for an hour. Dane is no stranger to the world of pizza and its evident by his creativity with each pie, testing out new ideas and riffing on the classics. Overflowing from his creative nature, come other playful concepts, like his brand, Cry Later, offering various cycling inspired hard goods, bidons, and stickers designed and crafted by Dane in his home. All pizza is good pizza, and the humility at which Dane delivers this is not lost on anyone that stops by.
